Students Setting up Office 365 Student Email in Outlook on 1:1 Machines

  1. Start up Outlook for first time and select to start mail setup wizard
  2. Click Manually configure server settings or additional server types, and then click Next

  4. On the Choose Service page, select Internet E-mail, and then click Next.

  6. Provide the following information on the Internet E-mail Settings page:
    1. Name
    2. Email (firstname_lastname@conestogavalley.org)
    3. Select POP3 for account type
    4. outlook.office365.com for Incoming mail server
    5. smtp.office365.com for Outgoing mail server
    6. Email address again for Username
    7. Password

  8. At the bottom of the page, click More Settings
  9. On the Outgoing Server tab, select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

  11. On the Advanced tab check the box for This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) and select TLS in the drop down for Use the following type of encrypted connection then click the Ok button

  13. On the Add New Account page, click Next
  14. Outlook tests your account, click Close when the test returns both as completed

Install Software using “Software Center”

Technology services has a new tool to deploy software to district owned machines that does not require the end user to have administrative rights. The tool is called Microsoft Software Center. For staff and students to use this tool please use the directions below.

Go to Start, Type Software Center.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If there is nothing listed here hit F5 or FN+F5 (depending on laptop model). Check program name and click “Install Selected” in the lower right hand corner.

 

 

 

The program will now disappear from the “Available Software” tab and jump to the “Installation Status” tab. You should see a status of “Downloading (%)” and “Installing“. Do not shutdown or logoff during this process. Once the status turns to “Installed” you are good to go.

The program will then be located in the “Installed Software” tab.
